SE Asia Counselling: sea counselling

A life abroad is a lot to carry alone

Moving overseas can be the best decision of a lifetime and still be hard. New work, a new language, friends who rotate out every two years and family asleep when you are awake.

Stress, low mood and worry do not stay behind at the airport. Often they grow, because the people who would usually notice are a long way off.

SE Asia Counselling offers confidential counselling online, from someone who lives here too and understands what expat life asks of people.

You do not need to know exactly what is wrong to reach out. Read about Craig.

A note from Craig

Hello, and thank you for reading this far. Reaching out is often the hardest part, so if you are here, you have already started.

I am a counsellor living in Thailand, and I work online with people from all over the world who have made Southeast Asia home. Some are here for a contract, some for good, some still deciding.

My approach is warm, practical and unhurried. We work out together what matters most, then use proven methods to make real changes in the weeks between our sessions.

If any of this sounds familiar, book a short call. No pressure, just a conversation.

Questions, answered

Is online counselling as good as sitting in a room together? For most people and most concerns, yes. Research on video counselling has found it works about as well as in-person sessions, and many clients find it easier to open up from their own space.

Where do I need to be? Anywhere with a private room and a steady connection. Clients join from Thailand, across Southeast Asia and further afield.

Which apps do you use? Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Line or WhatsApp. Pick the one you already have; nothing extra to install.

What happens on the free call? Fifteen minutes to say what is going on, ask questions and see whether Craig is the right fit. No obligation, and no payment details needed.

How long is a session? Fifty minutes. Most people start weekly, then space sessions out as things settle.

Is it confidential? Yes. What you share stays between you and Craig, within the legal and ethical limits explained before your first session.

Can couples join from two places? Yes. Partners can share one screen or join the same call from different cities.

Do you see teenagers? Yes, from age 13 with the consent of a parent or guardian.

How do I pay? Payment details are sent after the free call. Packages are paid up front and save on the single-session price.

What if I need help right now? This is not an emergency service. In Thailand call 1669 for an ambulance or 1323 for the 24-hour mental health hotline, or your local emergency number.
